What to Expect:
1. Skin Assessment: Your esthetician will start by assessing your skin type, acne type (inflammatory, non-inflammatory, hormonal, etc.), and general skin health. This will determine the products and treatment approach used.
2. Deep Cleansing: The esthetician will begin with a thorough cleanse to remove any dirt, oil, and makeup. This helps to open up the pores and prepares the skin for treatment. 3. Exfoliation: A gentle exfoliant will be used to remove dead skin cells, which can clog pores and contribute to acne formation. This may be done using an enzyme mask or a chemical exfoliant, depending on your skin's needs.
4. Extractions (if necessary): If your skin has clogged pores or active breakouts, the esthetician will perform gentle extractions to clear out the pores, reducing the risk of future breakouts.
5. Acne Treatment Mask: A mask tailored for acne-prone skin will be applied. This mask may include ingredients like sulfur, clay, or salicylic acid to help control oil, reduce bacteria, and soothe inflammation.
6. Hydration & Protection: After the acne treatments, your esthetician will apply a soothing moisturizer to help hydrate the skin without clogging pores, followed by a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin from UV damage.
7. Home Care Recommendations: Based on your skin's needs, your esthetician will recommend products from the Face Reality skincare line, including cleansers, serums, and spot treatments, to continue your acne treatment at home.
